On July 2nd, local time, the House of Representatives in the United States advanced President Trump’s large-scale tax and spending bill, also known as the “big but beautiful” bill. This is a crucial threshold for whether the bill can proceed to formal debate and voting procedures. If all procedural votes are passed, the House will enter into formal debate and voting on the bill.
As of now, there has been no result from the procedural votes mentioned above.
On July 1st, the Senate of the United States Congress narrowly passed the so-called “big but beautiful” bill, pushed by President Trump, and submitted it to the House of Representatives. Due to significant modifications compared to the version previously passed by the House, this bill requires another passage by the House before it can be signed by the President and become law.
