On the evening of July 3rd, local time, Alfredo Sade, the Colombian President’s Office Director, stated that following the mutual recall of the heads of their respective embassies in the United States and Colombia, the United States has begun to revoke visas for some Colombian government officials.
Alfredo Sade expressed that the relationship between the United States and Colombia should be based on respect.
Currently, the U.S. State Department has not issued an official statement nor disclosed the names of Colombian officials whose visas will be revoked.

On July 3rd, the U.S. State Department announced the recall of its temporary representative in Colombia, while Colombian President Petro responded on social media the same day, announcing the reciprocal recall of Colombia’s ambassador to the United States for consultations and reiterating Colombia’s commitment to advancing bilateral agendas between the two nations.
