According to the WeChat official account of the Chinese Embassy in Japan, on July 4th, the Chinese Embassy in Japan reminded Chinese citizens in Japan to be prepared for natural disasters.
Firstly, according to statistics from the Japan Meteorological Agency, from 8:00 AM on June 21st to 4:00 PM on July 2nd, there were a total of 911 felt earthquakes in the near-shore area of Tugugarajima Island, Ryukyu Islands. On July 2nd, the Japan Meteorological Agency held an emergency meeting to remind local residents to pay attention to safety and prepare themselves for sheltering at any time.
Secondly, according to the Central Meteorological Observatory, this year’s third typhoon “Muen” has formed in the northwestern Pacific Ocean surface on July 3rd, with its center located about 1150 kilometers southeast of Tokyo, Japan. It is expected that “Muen” will move towards the northeast at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour, gradually increasing in strength.
Thirdly, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency, Japan’s average temperature in June this year was 2.34 degrees Celsius higher than the baseline value, making it the hottest June since records began in 1898. The Japan Meteorological Agency stated that this summer, Japan will experience prolonged hot weather across the country, with high temperatures expected to continue until September.
In light of the above, the Chinese Embassy in Japan reminds all Chinese compatriots and visitors in Japan:
Firstly, enhance awareness of natural disaster prevention, closely monitor earthquake dynamics, meteorological warnings, and disaster information, and relocate to safe areas as early as possible if necessary.
Secondly, pay attention to travel and traffic safety. Avoid going out in extreme weather conditions such as heavy rain unless absolutely necessary, and keep away from rivers, seas, and mountains when necessary.
Thirdly, pay attention to personal health conditions. Adjust outdoor activities during hot weather periods reasonably, take measures to prevent heatstroke, and replenish fluids promptly.
