The “catastrophic” floods in Texas, USA, have resulted in 13 deaths and about 23 missing persons.
In the early hours of the day, Kerr County in Texas was hit by torrential rains, triggering a deadly “catastrophic” flood that has so far claimed 13 lives and left about 23 campers missing.
Texas’ Deputy Governor Dan Patrick stated that among the deceased were children. He mentioned that several large campsites were affected, including one named “Mystery Camp,” which had 750 campers, with about 23 people still unaccounted for.
It is reported that the flood disaster occurred in the central part of Texas, approximately 75 miles west of Austin, in Kerr County. The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office advised residents to seek shelter and avoid travel. Currently, the emergency state of flooding in most areas of Kerr County has been extended to 5 p.m. Central Time.
