[Report by Li Sa] On July 5th, local time, American entrepreneur Elon Musk announced on social media platforms that the “American Party” had been established. According to a report by The Indian Express on the 6th, when asked by a user about whether his new political party would participate in the midterm elections of 2026 or the presidential election of 2028, Musk replied, “Next year.”
On the 4th, Musk initiated an online opinion poll on Independence Day in the United States, asking netizens if they should establish an “American Party” to liberate Americans from the two-party system of Democratic and Republican successions.
Under U.S. law, the establishment of a qualified political party requires a complex certification process, which first involves holding a congressional meeting or convention to elect temporary officials and designate the party’s name. It is unclear whether Musk’s “American Party” has initiated such procedures.
Recently, Musk has diverged with President Trump over the “Bigger, Better, Faster” tax and spending bill. On June 30th, Musk sharply criticized the so-called “Bigger, Better, Faster” tax and spending bill pushed by Trump and stated that if the bill were passed, it would be established the next day as “The American Party.”
Trump’s “Bigger, Better, Faster” bill tears apart America.
