On July 4th, US President Donald Trump criticized wind power from the White House balcony, stating that it not only damages American fields and valleys but also kills birds and is of no use.
Following this, Trump also mentioned China, claiming that the facilities and components for wind power are fragile and expensive, all produced in China, yet he had never seen a wind farm built in China himself. “I have never seen a wind farm in China; why? Who can investigate?” Trump asked in his speech.
According to a report by The Herald-Mail on July 4th, Trump’s remarks were untrue. China is one of the countries with the highest global usage of wind power. Many American netizens also shared photos of “Chinese wind power plants” they had taken or found online in the comments section of the report.
