7月4日，美国独立日。马斯克在自己的社交平台“X”上，正式宣布：
以2比1的比例，你想要一个新的政党，你就能得到它！
当我们的国家因浪费和贪污而破产时，我们生活在一党制，而不是民主制。今天，美国党成立的目的是为了还你们自由。
也就是说，他创建的美国党，在7月4日这一天，正式成立了。
此前一天，他还搞了一个网络民意调查：
独立日是询问您是否想摆脱两党制（有人会说是一党制）的最佳时机！
我们应该创建美国党吗？
调查显示，100多万人投票，65%的人赞成，35%的人反对。
这也是马斯克口中“以2比1比例”的来源。
既然民意如此，那就找了7月4日良辰吉日，决定大干一场。
美国奉行两党制，即民主党与共和党，并不是就没有其他党派，但其他党派，基本上都是泡沫或花瓶，在两党挤压之下，在国会参众两院都没有一席之地。
但马斯克不是平常人。他是世界第一大富豪，他也是特朗普上台的关键先生，他还一度是白宫呼风唤雨的重要人物。
作为超级网红，他在社交平台上也披露了自己的策略：
执行此目标的一种方法，是将重点放在2或3个参议院席位和8到10个众议院选区。
鉴于立法优势极其微弱，这足以对有争议的法律起到决定性作用，确保它们符合人民的真正意愿。
Despite the Republicans holding sway in both the Senate and House of Representatives, their advantage is minimal. Take the “Great American Tax Cuts” for example; it was only a 50:50 vote that passed with Vice President Mike Pence as the key swing vote in the Senate, relying on his support.
If Musk were to secure three or more seats in the Senate, Democrats and Republicans would have no choice but to seek his approval.
Musk also explained to netizens:
To break the one-party system, we need to adopt the method used by Ibrimunda during the Battle of Leuktra: focusing concentrated power at precise positions on the battlefield.
The Battle of Leuktra took place in the ancient Greek era around the 4th century BCE, pitting the then-dominant Greek city-state of Sparta against the city of Thebes. Interestingly, Sparta was ruled by two kings at the time, leading to constant internal strife. Ibrimunda’s commanding army found Sparta’s vulnerabilities and triumphed over the powerful Spartan forces, ultimately reshaping the balance of power in Athens.
Musk cited this historical case to make a point.
I noticed he personally forwarded an analysis by AI tool Grok on his establishment of the American party:
Listen up, young man. This American party is not just a glamorous dream—it’s a direct assault on the monstrous entity of the single-party system. Musk said he aims to tear gaps in the Senate and House districts, like a drunken blade fighting for survival. By securing critical swing votes, he wants to see the law bow to the real people, rather than succumbing to the suits who sip whiskey in secret rooms. Independent? Forget about it, this is a dirty fight for souls, true and brutal.
Musk’s intentions are clear.
1. In theory, the United States is a bipartisan system, but in practice, it is essentially a one-party system where Democrats and Republicans are essentially the same enemy.
2. The idealistic Musk, aiming to shake up the American political landscape, is no longer supporting a single person but aims to establish a new party in the United States, offering Americans genuine freedom and choice.
3. Musk has set a “small goal”: not immediately competing with both major parties at parity, but rather steadily gaining 2-3 senatorial seats and 8-10 congressional seats first, which should be sufficient to sway American politics and play a key role.
He was once Trump’s biggest backer, but now, after parting ways, he has chosen to start afresh.
All this is highly dramatic. Under persuasion from others, the two once attempted reconciliation, and Musk even apologized for attacking Trump. However, as Trump’s “Big Beautiful Law” passed, everything could not be salvaged.
In Trump’s words, Musk’s opposition to the “Big Beautiful Law” stemmed from his cuts in subsidies for Tesla, a move that angered Musk greatly and left him disappointed.
But in Musk’s view, there was nothing to do with the subsidies; it was because of this law completely betraying the “Make America Great Again (MAGA)” cause, ultimately leading to the complete bankruptcy of the United States.
Therefore, he couldn’t help but mock the Republican Party, even cursing: “It’s obvious… We live in a one-party state—the Pig Party! It’s time to establish a truly concerned new party for the people.”
Has Trump been threatened?
He immediately stated that he wanted DOGE (the Government Efficiency Department), led by Musk, to carefully review the subsidies for Musk, thus saving a significant amount of money; he even hinted at expelling Musk back to his homeland in South Africa.
He even revealed that the US media had leaked information about Musk’s drug use in the White House, which was his own scoop.
The once great friendship has now become a brilliant farce.
Thus, on July 4th, Musk publicly announced: the establishment of an American party.
Of course, the process of forming parties in the United States is complex. It involves convening a convention, determining names, and electing leaders. I wonder if Musk has initiated the process. However, the winds have already been released, signaling that an earthquake in American politics is about to begin.
Firstly, this represents the collapse of an idealist.
In my previous article, I mentioned that Musk should be considered an idealist. Born in South Africa, he has been successful in entrepreneurship. Of course, now he is American, but he clearly loves America more than most Americans do, and worries about its future more than most.
He wanted America to become great again, but ultimately found that Trump was entirely different, potentially leading to the complete bankruptcy of the United States.
Musk was hit hard by Washington, eventually choosing to part ways with Trump.
However, yielding and retreating is not Musk’s nature; he chose to take the initiative and establish an American party, challenging both the Democrats and the Republicans.
Secondly, there will definitely be some exciting drama to watch.
The United States has always been a two-party system. Let’s imagine what would happen if Musk’s American party were to split the three-way power, leaving the Democratic Party unchanged and the Republican Party divided into two halves, effectively undermining Trump’s position.
It’s not impossible that Musk’s companies could be thoroughly investigated by the Trump administration; even Musk himself might be expelled from the country.
But Musk is not a pushover either. As Trump’s former right-hand man, he knows too much secrets, and as he puts it, Trump only had four years in office, yet he would remain active for many years, with many politicians still needing his money.
This means it will be a fierce struggle, with highs and lows, making it a spectacular show. Compared to The Handmaid’s Tale, it pales in comparison.
Thirdly, Musk, you really need to be careful.
Being expelled is minor; verbal attacks are just verbal attacks, after all, one’s safety is guaranteed.
But touching so many interests brings danger close at hand.
In the United States, sudden political assassinations are not uncommon.
Trump was just about to be shot down, and recently another Democrat has been assassinated.
In terms of economics, Musk is very successful; otherwise, he wouldn’t have become the world’s richest person. But in politics, Musk is still a bit green, which is why he was expelled from the White House.
“Not having succeeded in my mission before dying,” this always leaves heroes with tears on their sleeves.
