On July 6th, local time, an Israeli official confirmed that the Israeli Security Cabinet had approved a plan allowing more humanitarian aid to enter the northern Gaza region. The distribution of aid will be organized by international aid organizations.
Carl Schoker, Deputy Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Programme, previously stated that once Gaza achieves a ceasefire, the organization is ready to mobilize resources within 24 hours, significantly increasing the capacity to transport goods into the northern Gaza region to 500 to 600 trucks per day.
As of now, due to prolonged blockades and ongoing conflicts in the northern Gaza region, there is a severe shortage of supplies. Under international public opinion pressure, Israel allowed a small amount of supplies to enter the Gaza Strip starting from late May. The American-supported civil organization “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” skirted around the United Nations agencies and unilaterally took over the distribution of supplies in the Gaza Strip. However, it was revealed to be operating in chaos, with allegations that the Israeli military fired at people receiving supplies “almost daily.” (News)
