On July 7th, local time, American media personality Carlson released an online interview with Iranian President Hassan Pezeshkiyan. In the interview, Pezeshkiyan stated that Israel attempted to assassinate him during a 12-day conflict between the two countries last month.
When asked whether he believed Israel had attempted to assassinate him, Pezeshkiyan responded that Israel “did indeed attempt it, taking appropriate actions,” but “failed.” He revealed that he was in a meeting discussing tactics at the time, and Israel attempted to bomb the location where the meeting was held. The behind-the-scenes plotters were not the United States, but Israel.
In the interview, Pezeshkiyan also mentioned that on the issue of nuclear issues, Iran does not oppose international verification and U.S.-Iran negotiations, but needs to rebuild trust in the negotiation process.
The Iranian presidential office also confirmed the content of the above-mentioned interview on July 7th.
Israel launched an attack on targets within Iran on June 13th, which led to retaliatory strikes by Iran. Following the outbreak of the conflict, both sides launched multiple rounds of mutual attacks. This round of conflict resulted in the deaths of senior military commanders and nuclear scientists in Iran. (Liu Xiaoqian)
