It has been reported that on July 7th, local time, the Presidential Office of South Africa issued a statement noting that President Ramaphosa had taken note of the notification regarding the unilateral imposition of a 30% trade tariff by U.S. President Trump on South Africa. President Ramaphosa stated that South Africa is among the many countries to have received such notifications on July 7th.
President Ramaphosa expressed that South Africa would continue to promote a more balanced and reciprocal trade relationship with the United States through diplomatic channels. The South African government noted that the U.S. government has committed to adjusting the 30% tariff rate based on the outcome of negotiations between the two sides. (Zhao Yinan, CCTV)
