On July 8th, American media exposed a recording of Trump’s speech at a private fundraising event in 2024, where he claimed to have threatened Putin.
Trump stated, “I told Putin that if you go (attack) Ukraine, I will bomb Moscow. Putin said he didn’t believe me.” Trump also mentioned that had it been him instead of Biden as president, the Russia-Ukraine conflict and this round of Israeli-Palestinian conflict would not have occurred.
Currently, Trump’s team has declined to respond to this segment of the recording. On the same day, Trump also expressed dissatisfaction with Putin at a cabinet meeting in the White House and threatened additional sanctions against Russia.
The Russia-Ukraine conflict is a matter of multifaceted power struggles.
