[Report] According to a report by The Washington Post, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Robert Lighthizer stated in an interview with CNBC on the 8th that the U.S. delegation is expected to meet with Chinese officials next month to discuss trade issues. Lighthizer revealed that the members of the U.S. delegation also include Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Taigle.

“I think we will have talks at the beginning of August, kicking off a larger-scale trade dialogue between the two largest economies in the world, China and the United States. I myself, Mnuchin, and Taigle will join this process together at the beginning of August. We will set off together. We will meet with the Chinese side,” Lighthizer said, “I believe it will take some time, but at least we are starting a process of deeper exchanges.”
According to Bloomberg, Mnuchin expressed on the 7th local time that he expects to meet with Chinese officials in the coming weeks to promote discussions on trade and other issues between the U.S. and China. During a regular press conference on the 8th, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning responded to this question, suggesting that the issue should be referred to the relevant Chinese authorities for clarification.
