On July 10th, according to media reports citing Korean sources, former NCT member Moon Tae-il (Moon Tae-il) was sentenced in the first instance for a special case of attempted rape today. He was handed a three-year and six-month prison term and was detained in court. Furthermore, the court ordered him to complete a 40-hour sexual violence treatment course, publicly disclose his identity information, and be barred from employment with organizations related to children or adolescents for five years. Additionally, as reported by China Daily, on the morning of June 18th local time, the Seoul Central District Court heard the first-instance trial of three individuals accused of sexual assault involving 31-year-old South Korean idol group NCT member Moon Tae-il. The three defendants admitted all charges in court and requested leniency from the court. According to reports, the South Korean prosecutors requested a seven-year prison sentence, with the court set to announce its verdict on July 10th. As per China Daily, around 2:33 AM on June 13th last year, Moon Tae-il and two other defendants encountered the victim at a bar in Ryeodae-gil, Seoul, where the victim was confirmed to be Chinese nationality. Court documents revealed that Moon Tae-il and others did not know the victim. After consuming alcohol together, they kidnapped the intoxicated victim and took her to their residence, where they then committed sexual assault upon the unconscious victim. Moon Tae-il and his accomplices confessed to these facts without reservation, and the prosecution has requested a seven-year prison sentence.
