Live Ball News, July 11 – The NBA’s Las Vegas Summer League kicked off with the Spurs facing the 76ers. The Spurs’ second-round pick, Parker, was absent due to a minor groin injury, while the 76ers’ third-round pick, VJ-Echikum, also missed out due to a left thumb sprain. Sifuno played for the 76ers, while the Spurs were led by their 14th overall pick, Carter Bryant.
After the first quarter, the two teams showed starkly different performances. The Spurs’ perimeter shooting was on fire, with Garcia in hot form scoring 12 points and leading the team to several scoring runs. Conversely, the 76ers were struggling, trailing by 22 points at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, the 76ers found their offensive rhythm, but Garcia was unstoppable, giving the Spurs a clear advantage. By halftime, the Spurs had a 29-point lead. After switching sides, the 76ers continued to struggle with their offense, but Mitchell and Dennis continued to fire, leaving the Spurs leading by 32 points by the end of the third quarter. In the final quarter, both teams sent their reserves out, with the 76ers unable to catch up, and the game was over before it started. The Spurs won convincingly with a score of 111-70.
