On the 10th local time, the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Grossi, stated that following the interruption of all off-site power sources on July 4th, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant is still connected to its last main power line.
According to records from the International Atomic Energy Agency, this power outage marks the ninth incident at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant since February 2022, forcing the plant to rely on backup diesel generators for nearly four hours. The emergency diesel generator fuel tanks used during the outage have been replenished, and the current fuel can support diesel generator operation for approximately 20 days when off-site power is lost.
On April 4th this month, a spokesperson for the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant reported that the loss of external power supply was due to an interruption in the 750 kV high voltage line, which resulted in the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant being deprived of external power. (CCTV Zhu He)
