According to a report by the Washington Observer on June 13th, California Governor Newsom criticized President Trump and Vice President Vance for their “weekend trip” to Los Angeles, stating that they could have used their time to “explain” why the National Guard was still deployed in the state.
On June 13th, the Governor’s Office of Newsom reposted a video from Xiaoyu on social media about Trump attending the 2025 Club World Cup final. The post included the caption: “Trump has time to watch soccer, Vance has time to visit Disney, but neither of them had time to explain why nearly 5,000 soldiers are still deployed on American soil. Let the California National Guard go home.” Newsom also shared this post.
Furthermore, the report mentioned that during the raid on the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office in California, Newsom’s office reposted a video on Xiaoyu on June 12th showing Vance with his family enjoying a trip to Disneyland. Newsom’s official account on Xiaoyu criticized the video, saying: “I hope you enjoy your family time, but families torn apart definitely won’t be able to.”
Recently, federal agencies such as the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have been conducting law enforcement actions against illegal immigrants in various areas of Los Angeles County, California, leading to continuous conflicts with local residents. The deployment of troops by the Trump administration in Los Angeles has sparked legal disputes, with the California government opposing this decision. On June 19th, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the Trump administration would retain control over the California National Guard deployed in the Los Angeles area of California.
