According to Al Jazeera, a local time on the 13th reported that an Iranian senior official, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that Israel will pay the price for assassinating Iranian high-ranking officials. Earlier in the day, Iranian media revealed that the Iranian President had sustained minor injuries during an Israeli attack.
The unnamed Iranian senior official mentioned that the attempted assassination targeted the heads of Iran’s administrative, legislative, and judicial bodies, aiming to overthrow the Iranian regime. He stated that Israel would be held accountable for its actions.
Iranian Media: Iranian President Suffered Minor Injuries During Israeli Attack
The Fars News Agency disclosed on the 13th details about the specifics of the Israeli attack on the venue of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran. The report mentioned that the attack took place on the morning of June 16th, when the meeting of the Supreme National Security Council was convening at the lower floors of a building in the western part of Tehran, with the heads of three government departments and several senior officials present.
The Israeli attack bore similarities to its previous operation against Lebanese Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah. The Israeli military fired six missiles, targeting the entrances and exits of the building to block escape routes. Following the explosion, the power supply to the first floor was cut off, and the trapped individuals successfully evacuated through pre-prepared emergency exits. The Iranian President, Pezersky Ziayeni, suffered a leg injury during the evacuation process. Currently, Iran is investigating whether there was any leakage of information.
