1,180 people in Spain have died due to high temperatures.
The majority of these deaths were individuals over the age of 65. The northern regions of Galicia and La Rioja in Spain were most severely affected by the heatwave. Additionally, according to forecasts from the National Meteorological Agency of Spain, Spain is set to experience a new round of hot weather starting from the 14th.
Previously, the Climate Change Service of the European Union’s Copernicus Climate Change Service reported that the Western region experienced the hottest June on record since the institution began recording.
