On July 15th, local time, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross stated that American goods would not be subject to tariffs in Indonesia, while imported goods from Indonesia would have to pay taxes.
Ross did not disclose the tariff rates or details of the agreement between the two countries.
Earlier that day, President Donald Trump posted on social media platforms that he had just reached an agreement with Indonesia that was great for everyone involved.
On July 7th, local time, Trump announced that starting August 1, 2025, all products exported from Indonesia to the United States would be subject to a 32% tariff. (Xu Dezhi)
