Earlier on the same day, President Trump stated that tariffs would begin on August 1st. He also mentioned that an agreement had been reached with Indonesia and that discussions with Vietnam were essentially finalized.
On the 14th local time, President Trump indicated that the US would engage in consultations on tariff issues with various countries and remain open to trade negotiations, including those with Europe. Meanwhile, the EU is expected to come over for discussions on trade issues. Trump also mentioned that some trade agreements have already been reached.
Recently, Trump has written letters to leaders of more than 20 countries, stating that new tariffs would be imposed on these countries starting from August 1st.
