△ Putin’s Visit to Magnitogorsk Steel Plant on July 16th
On July 16th, local time, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the relationship between Russia and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) is gradually recovering.
During his visit to the Magnitogorsk Steel Plant, Putin engaged in conversations with the plant’s employees. He mentioned, “We still have many issues with the IOC… but it seems that our relationship with the IOC is gradually recovering.”
At the end of February 2022, due to the impact of the situation in Ukraine, the IOC advised various international sports associations to ban Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in international sports events. Additionally, Russia was also stripped of the qualifications to host several international sports events.
