LiveBattle.com, July 19th –
Dan Woike discussed Luka Dončić in a recent show.
I believe they (the Lakers) are very confident about it. As far as I know, they had already reached out to him earlier in the summer and discussed the team’s future plans. When they acquired him through a trade, they believed they could keep him for the long haul.
Los Angeles indeed has its share of undesirable aspects, such as traffic congestion. But regarding Luka Dončić, we know two things: firstly, he loves the big stage, and what bigger stage could there be than playing in front of celebrities at the Crypto.com Arena? Secondly, he doesn’t particularly enjoy fame. You might think that Los Angeles is full of celebrities, but in reality, you can choose to live anonymously here, as there will always be other celebrities appearing in your circle. I think he has been quite comfortable in Los Angeles. I am quite certain that the Lakers can reach an extension agreement with him, just a matter of time.
Starting from August 3rd, the Lakers can offer Dončić a four-year contract worth $229 million.
Dončić played 28 games for the Lakers this season, averaging 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.5 assists, and 1.6 steals per game, with a shooting percentage of 43.8%, a three-point shooting percentage of 37.9%, and a free throw percentage of 79.1%.
