On July 21, Turkish President Erdogan expressed his views on the recent situation in Syria, criticizing Israel for its unwillingness to achieve regional stability and its ongoing provocative actions. Erdogan emphasized that Turkey opposes Syrian division, stating that the unity and restoration of Syria are conducive to regional stability and align with Turkey’s interests.
On July 13, a fierce conflict broke out between the Druze armed factions and Bedouin tribes in Suweida province in southern Syria. Following this, the Syrian government’s internal and defense ministries intervened. Israel, citing the prevention of Syrian regime forces from entering southern Syria, began targeting military objectives of the Syrian regime starting from July 14. (Report by Chen Huihui)
