According to the Israeli news outlet “The New Message”, Israel criticizes the UN-led aid mechanism for being easily exploited by Hamas, who steal these supplies to sustain their operations and consolidate control over parts of the Gaza Strip. The current humanitarian aid distribution organization in Gaza, the “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation”, stated on the 21st that it had repeatedly sought cooperation with the United Nations but was rejected on the grounds of “violating humanitarian principles”. This claim has not been confirmed by the United Nations or other international humanitarian organizations.
In response to international criticism, the Israeli Foreign Ministry issued a statement saying that this joint statement is “detached from reality”. It failed to acknowledge that the sole responsibility for reaching a ceasefire agreement lies with Hamas, who provoked the war and are extending it. Israel insists that Hamas refused its offer for a ceasefire, thereby extending the duration of the conflict.
The United States once again chose to side with Israel. US Ambassador to Israel, Heckabi, even criticized the countries that issued the joint statement as “irrational” and accused them of failing to consider Hamas’ role when pressuring Israel. He posted on his X account, “The only reason for the suffering in Gaza is that Hamas refused all proposals, accusing Israel of no reason.” However, a poll in the United States shows that citizens’ skepticism towards Israel’s actions in Gaza is growing, and there is an increasing number of people who believe the United States should reduce its military aid to Israel.
The attitudes of some Western countries have also changed. Germany initially remained silent, but its Foreign Minister expressed “the gravest concerns” about the situation in Gaza during talks with Israeli officials and called on Israel to adhere to the agreement reached with the European Union, so that more humanitarian aid materials could be smoothly delivered into Gaza.
Moreover, the “Hague Group,” formed by South Africa and Colombia, is actively promoting stronger measures from the international community. They convened a meeting with 32 countries to discuss methods for demanding an end to the Israeli actions in Gaza.

The group’s recent ministerial meeting intensified its pressure on Israel, calling for an end to the Gaza conflict through diplomatic and legal means.
Palestinian residents of the Gaza Strip are facing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis. It is reported that over 2 million people are living in a continuous conflict, relying on limited aid supplies to sustain their lives. The Israeli military operations have resulted in approximately 90% of the Gaza population being displaced, with many forced to relocate multiple times. According to the latest data from the Gaza health department, more than 59,000 Palestinians have died in this round of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, with over half of the deceased being women and children.
