Trump suggests renaming AI as “Genius Intelligence.”
According to a report by CBS on the 24th, President Donald Trump made a speech at an AI summit held in Washington D.C. on the 23rd local time. He expressed his unwillingness to accept the name “Artificial Intelligence” and suggested renaming it “Genius Intelligence.”
The Oxford English Dictionary defines “Artificial” not only as “made by man or woman” but also as “pretentious.” In his speech, Trump criticized the term “Artificial” in AI, stating, “I can’t stand any pretentious things, I even don’t like the name for artificial things.”
Trump further stated that “AI is genius, pure genius. I suggest we rename it Genius Intelligence.” He emphasized that this idea was “serious.”
The report mentions that the U.S. government will sign numerous executive orders related to the AI industry, including establishing support for data centers, semiconductor manufacturing plants, and improving the national power grid, among other measures aimed at eliminating so-called “ideological biases” in large AI models’ conversations.
