The Philippine National Meteorological Agency announced at 23:00 on July 23 that a tropical storm located in the northwestern part of the Philippines has strengthened, becoming this year’s eighth typhoon, “Bamboo Stick.” According to its predicted path, the typhoon is expected to make landfall in the northern Luzon Island area of the Philippines between the evening of the 24th and the morning of the 25th.
The Philippine National Meteorological Agency stated that “Bamboo Stick” might intensify to typhoon strength before making landfall. Currently, the northern Luzon region has already recorded wind speed level 2. The Philippines’ typhoon warning levels are categorized into five levels, with level 1 being the lowest and level 5 being the highest. Forecasts indicate that during the passage of “Bamboo Stick,” the highest wind speed level could reach level 4.
