The border conflict between Thailand and Cambodia has resulted in the deaths of over 20 Thai civilians.
During an interview with the media on the same day, Prathap stated that the current situation is one where Cambodia has launched an attack and has caused casualties among the people.
Thailand is fully committed to defending its national sovereignty, and the situation could escalate to war.
Prathap revealed that Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar had called to express his desire to serve as a mediator, hoping to facilitate a ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia. Prathap emphasized that Thailand always insists on resolving disputes through peaceful means.
Cambodia must be sincere and stop its attacks first before negotiations can proceed.
On the morning of the 24th, firefights broke out between Thailand and Cambodia at their border regions, with both sides accusing each other of being the first to open fire. On the 25th, another round of firefights occurred at the border region, with artillery shelling heard at 2:00 AM, 3:00 AM, and 5:00 AM.
Earlier on the 25th, the Deputy Governor of Oudomxay Province in Cambodia reported that the border conflict between Thailand and Cambodia has resulted in at least one civilian death in the province, along with five others injured.
