According to the Chinese Consulate General in Lagos, Nigeria, on July 24th, Deputy Consul General Jin Mingyu met with the Director of the Ogun State Police Department, Ogunlowo, and inspected a Chinese-funded enterprise in the Shagamu area, accompanied by the Police Liaison Officer.
Deputy Consul General Jin expressed his gratitude for the efforts made by the Ogun State Police Department in successfully solving the murder case involving Chinese citizens and stated that the Consulate General is willing to continue strengthening exchanges and cooperation in areas such as improving security mechanisms and law enforcement capabilities between the two sides. He hopes that the Ogun State Police Department will continue to serve and ensure the safety of Chinese-funded enterprises, institutions, and personnel within its jurisdiction.
Ogunlowo mentioned that protecting the safety of foreign nationals within its jurisdiction is their duty. The successful arrest of two suspects highlights the Ogun State Police Department’s determination and capability in cracking down on illegal activities against foreign nationals. He expressed his willingness to deepen exchanges and cooperation with China, carry out various forms of police law enforcement cooperation, and work together to enhance their capacity to address complex security situations.
During his visit, Deputy Consul General Jin also visited two Chinese-funded industrial parks in the Shagamu area. He thoroughly understood the safety production and security measures within these enterprises. He hoped that Chinese-funded enterprises in the region would come together to face security challenges, while reminding them to pay close attention to new visa management regulations in Nigeria and to handle their documentation properly to ensure legal compliance.
