On the 24th local time, the Israel Defense Forces announced that earlier in the day, during an airstrike targeting Haneys in southern Gaza, they killed a key member of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).
The IDF stated that the individual had long served as the head of the Lafa port cargo transfer station, where he led hundreds of operations to smuggle weapons and military equipment into the Gaza Strip. He also directly assisted the development and expansion of Hamas’ military forces.
Over the years, the individual has been a key figure in the Hamas military network’s smuggling network. The Lafa port cargo transfer station has been utilized by Hamas for many years as a crucial passageway for smuggling military equipment into Gaza, providing support for the organization’s military capabilities against Israel.
