[Report] According to reports from Reuters and other media outlets, during a meeting on the 24th local time, U.S. State Department Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pickett stated that the United States urges Thailand and Cambodia to immediately cease hostilities.
During the meeting, Pickett expressed deep concern over the escalating violence along the Thai-Cambodian border, stating, “The United States urges immediate cessation of hostilities, protection of civilians, and peaceful resolution of conflict.”
Conflicts erupted between Cambodia and Thailand on the 24th and 25th in the border region, with both sides accusing each other of violating international law. Many parties have expressed concern about the situation along the Thai-Cambodian border and have called for restraint from all parties involved. Additionally, the United Nations Security Council is set to hold a closed meeting on the 25th Eastern Time regarding the conflict along the Thai-Cambodian border.
