According to @SanxiangCityNews, on July 25th, it was reported that the Gyeonggi Province Eastern Police Station in South Korea transferred actor Song Ying-Kui from detention without charge to the Hyeonghae Provincial Prosecutor’s Office at the end of June.
It is known that Song Ying-Kui was accused of driving under the influence of alcohol around 11 p.m. on June 19th, in the Qixing District of Gyeonggi City to the Chumyung District, a distance of about 5 kilometers.
Following a tip-off from a witness who suspected drunk driving, the police apprehended his vehicle and arrested him. A breathalyzer test showed his blood alcohol concentration exceeded the standard for a revoked license (0.08% or more).
Investigation revealed that he was caught while returning home after drinking with friends in the Qixing District. A police source stated, “Specific details of the investigation are not disclosed.”
Song Ying-Kui, male, born on April 18, 1970, in South Korea, made his debut as a child actor through the children’s musical drama “The Magician Mertal” in 1994. He has since been active in numerous TV series and movies, often playing memorable supporting roles. His notable works include the role of “Captain Choi” in the box office hit movie “Extreme Job” (2019), and standout performances in “Surinam” (2022) and “Death Betting for King” (2022). Currently, he is portraying Reverend Yoon Se-Hun in the ENA monthly drama “Returning Children,” and will play the head coach of the high school rugby team in the upcoming SBS telenovela “TRY: We Become Miracles.”
