The spokesperson for the Cambodian Ministry of Defence stated today (July 26th) that as the border conflict between Cambodia and Thailand enters its third day, the Thai Navy has deployed eight warships in the coastal waters of Kampong Cham Province. The Thai Navy also claimed that a new conflict broke out at dawn along the coast of Tong Ai Province—within more than 100 kilometers from other points of contention on the long-standing disputed border with Cambodia. In response to the Thai claim that “Cambodia initiated the attack,” the spokesperson for the Cambodian Ministry of Defence refuted this accusation, emphasizing that “Cambodia is the victim and retains the right to retaliate.”
Additionally, according to Thai military sources, this afternoon, the Thai Air Force dispatched two F-16 fighter jets and two EA-6B Prowler bombers to strike military targets in the Pak Mek Mountain area by Cambodia. The Thai military reported that prior to this, “Cambodian forces launched ballistic weapons against Thai forces with the intent to capture the region.” Another target of the Thai military’s airstrike was located in the Ta Moun Anto Temple area, which is said to be a “camouflage artillery position and troop deployment point for the Cambodian military, which unleashed fire on Thai territory without discrimination.” (CCTV International News)
