On July 26th local time, Mary Shujie, a spokesperson for the Cambodian Defense Ministry, stated that the Cambodia-Thailand conflict has resulted in 21 people injured. According to data from the Thai Prime Minister’s Office and military on the 25th, the Thailand-Cambodia border conflict has led to 19 deaths in Thailand, including 13 civilians and 6 military personnel.

Early on July 26th local time, Thailand and Cambodia exchanged fire again in the border area between the two countries. The Thai military claimed that Cambodian troops first opened fire on Thai soldiers, and the Thai military subsequently returned the fire. The Cambodian Defense Ministry strongly condemned Thailand’s five rounds of shelling at multiple locations in the Prachuap Khiri Khan Province at 5:02 am on the 26th.

The Cambodian Defense Ministry stated that Thailand’s actions constitute a blatant violation of Cambodia’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity, a serious breach of international law including the principles of the United Nations Charter, and a threat to the lives of innocent civilians and to regional peace and stability.

Cambodia demands that Thailand immediately cease all hostile activities and comply with its obligations under international law. Cambodia is committed to resolving disputes peacefully in accordance with international law, while reserving the right to self-defense as stipulated in Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.
