As military operations continue in the Gaza Strip, protests and gatherings in support of the Palestinian people have been taking place in Yemen’s Sana and areas controlled by the Houthis Armed Forces. On the 25th local time, thousands of Yemenis once again took to the streets to protest against Israel’s killing and hunger policies in the Gaza Strip.
On the 25th, thousands of Yemenis gathered in Sana, condemning Israel’s continued war in the Gaza Strip, as well as its blockade of the border, prevention of food from entering, and use of hunger as a weapon. They accused Israel of implementing ethnic cleansing and forced displacement against Palestinian civilians, attempting to empty the region’s residents.
Hossein, the former Minister of Higher Education of the Houthis Armed Forces, said:
Such gatherings have a powerful influence, firstly, in the hearts of Palestinian fighters and people in the Gaza Strip, making them feel that they are not alone. Secondly, I am sure that the enemy is watching these images frame by frame and is shocked, even if he pretend to be indifferent on the surface.
It is reported that the number of people participating in this week’s gatherings is far more than that of previous weeks, reflecting the anger produced in the hearts of Yemenis after witnessing images of Israeli forces shooting hungry children and elders at distribution points in the Gaza Strip. Many Yemenis interviewed expressed that these so-called distribution points have become traps for killing civilians. They called on the international community to pressure Israel, especially its main supporter, the United States, to stop ethnic cleansing, forced displacement, hunger blockade, and killing.
Reported by Hassan Bam, in the 70-day Square south of Sana, gatherings are held every Friday evening to condemn Israel’s continued war in the Gaza Strip and systematic hunger policies leading to a large number of child and elderly deaths.
