
On the 25th local time, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that French Foreign Minister Barrot held talks with the Syrian Kurdish armed group, “The Syrian Democratic Forces,” Commander Mazlum Abdi, on the 25th, to discuss advancing the political transition process in Syria. Prior to this, France had communicated separately with the Syrian foreign minister and the US Special Envoy for Syria.
French authorities confirmed that the Syrian Transitional Government and “The Syrian Democratic Forces” will hold a new round of negotiations in Paris soon, aimed at implementing the agreement signed by both parties on March 10th this year. France and the United States will act as the main facilitators in the process.
