On the 25th local time, Hamas senior official Tahir Nunu stated that while Hamas holds an absolute positive attitude towards the efforts of the relevant mediators, it was taken aback by the United States’ declaration. Nunu mentioned that negotiations have progressed smoothly, with significant consensus reached on the Israeli withdrawal plan during the ceasefire period. The US statement is baseless, especially given the progress made in the negotiations, and its remarks were unexpected.
Nunu expressed that Hamas is ready to complete the negotiations and takes seriousness in reaching an agreement to end the conflict in Gaza. The parties had originally planned to discuss the exchange of prisoners of war between Israel and Palestine next week, but throughout the negotiation process, Hamas was not informed of any issues with the documents. Israel’s recent negative statements are attempts to evade the outcome of the negotiations. (Zhao Bing, CCTV)
