On July 27th, local time, Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a speech at the Navy Day. He stated that the naval forces in Russia’s “nuclear triad” are continuously strengthening, with the strategic submarine force at the core of the naval strategy steadily enhancing its combat effectiveness. The “Podzharsky Grand Duke” class strategic submarine has been completed, and two more “Polaris-A” class nuclear submarines and six “Yasnaya Gavant-M” class multipurpose nuclear submarines are currently under different stages of construction.
Putin mentioned that the first naval development strategy approved by Russia this year clearly outlines the main directions for the Russian Navy’s development until 2050, fully demonstrating Russia’s confidence in its own capabilities.
