Thailand’s military: Cambodia proactively proposed negotiations, making it possible for a ceasefire to be achieved (News)
On the morning of July 27th, Thailand’s Army Deputy Spokesperson mentioned during a discussion about the “immediate ceasefire” negotiations between U.S. President Donald Trump, Cambodian Prime Minister, and Thailand’s acting Prime Minister, Pran, late on the 26th. He stated that these negotiations are two different levels of affairs—the negotiations are government-level matters, while frontline soldiers must continue their tasks according to tactics.
As long as there is no clear ceasefire, combat must continue.
The Deputy Spokesperson pointed out that
it is only possible for a ceasefire to be achieved if Cambodia proactively requests negotiations.
Moreover, starting from the early hours of the 27th, Cambodian troops had not ceased firing. On the other hand, Thailand used long-range artillery to retaliate, targeting Cambodian artillery positions and rocket launcher systems. (Reported by Song Huanyu)
