The New York Times of the United States revealed on the 27th that the Pentagon recently appropriated $934 million from its nuclear missile maintenance and upgrade budget for a “confidential project.”
Several Air Force officials confirmed that some of this funding would be used to refurbish a Boeing 747-8 aircraft, which was gifted by Qatar and given to President Trump.
The report stated that the “Sentinel” nuclear missile program aims to replace 400 active “Minuteman III” missiles and modify related facilities.
While the allocation of funds has not been made public regarding specific uses, Air Force officials acknowledged that some of the funds would be redirected towards the modification of this luxury aircraft. The Pentagon, however, declined to provide further details on the matter, citing “confidentiality concerns.”
