On July 29th, local time, the General Department of China learned that a spokesperson for the Cambodian Ministry of Defense refuted claims made by a Thai military spokesperson regarding conflicts that occurred after the ceasefire agreement took effect.
The Cambodian armed forces have been strictly enforcing the ceasefire order since midnight on July 28th.
Cambodia has made a clear and firm commitment to respect the terms of the joint ceasefire declaration reached between Thailand and Cambodia in Malaysia.
Earlier that day, the Thai military reported that the Second Army Command had informed the General Headquarters that Cambodian forces launched attacks at several locations along the Thai border during the night to early morning hours, violating the ceasefire agreement that came into effect at midnight on July 28th. The Thai side has responded accordingly based on the actual situation.
On July 29th, Thailand’s acting Prime Minister Puphan stated to the media that after the ceasefire agreement between Thailand and Cambodia took effect at midnight on July 28th, there might have been soldiers from Cambodia who were not disciplined.
