据以色列第12频道报道，在当晚举行的有限安全内阁会议上，讨论的议题包括占领加沙地带或围困巴勒斯坦伊斯兰抵抗运动（哈马斯）活跃城市的可能性。
以色列官员们还考虑切断加沙地带的电力供应
关于与哈马斯的停火谈判，一位高级安全官员称，“美国需要拿出武器，迫使卡塔尔在哈马斯的利益和自身利益之间做出选择。美国是唯一能够让哈马斯重返谈判桌的行动者。如果它不采取行动，局势将保持不变”。
