On July 29th, the CEO of Coldplay, Andy Byron, formally sued the band due to the video footage that not only resulted in his job loss but also completely ruined his life.
On July 16th, local time, a surprise encounter at the Boston concert of Coldplay caught on camera a couple who were reluctant to be on camera. They ran away when they saw themselves being broadcasted on the big screen, and lead singer Chris Martin joked about whether they were having an affair.
Byron is the CEO of “Astronomers” technology company, while his colleague Carbert serves as the Chief Human Resources Officer for the company. Byron is married with two children, and Carbert divorced in 2022. Byron has since issued a public apology to his wife. Shortly after the incident sparked widespread discussion, Byron’s wife deleted her social media accounts and removed her username from it, removing her husband’s last name.
Coldplay, a British rock band founded in London in 1996, consists of lead vocalist Chris Martin, bassist Guy Berryman, guitarist Jon Bon Jovi, and drummer Will Champion, with creative director and former agent Phil Harvey often considered as the fifth member.
