The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Seismic Hazard Information Center released earthquake and tsunami information. At 07:24 on July 30 (Beijing time), a magnitude 7.6 earthquake occurred in the far offshore waters of the eastern coast of Kamchatka (52.44°N, 160.13°E). The depth of the epicenter was 15 kilometers. Based on preliminary seismic parameters, the Tsunami Warning Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources predicts that the earthquake could trigger a regional tsunami within hundreds of kilometers around the epicenter, but it will not cause any catastrophic impact along China’s coastline.
