Cailian Press, July 30 – The three major U.S. stock indexes closed lower, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping by 0.42%, the Nasdaq Composite down by 0.38%, and the S&P 500 index falling by 0.28%. Popular technology stocks were mostly in decline, with Meta dropping more than 2%, Intel, Apple, and Tesla each falling by more than 1%, while AMD surged by more than 2%. The concept of weight loss drugs and the integrated logistics sector experienced significant drops, with Novo Nordisk falling by more than 21%, United Parcel Service dropping by more than 10%, Eli Lilly falling by more than 5%, and FedEx dropping by more than 3%. The oil and gas sector strengthened, with ExxonMobil, Shell, and Royal Dutch Shell rising by more than 1%.
