Venezuela’s Defense Minister, Padrino Lopez, announced via social media on July 30th that a military aircraft carrying 10 people crashed in the Amazon state of southern Venezuela, resulting in 7 fatalities.
The announcement stated that the aircraft was part of the Venezuelan Air Force and was en route to transport indigenous people at the time of the accident. It carried 7 passengers and 3 crew members. The accident resulted in the death of the co-pilot and 6 passengers. Rescue personnel found 3 survivors at the site of the incident, who are currently receiving treatment.
Lopez mentioned that further investigation into the cause of the accident is necessary.
