[Report] According to a comprehensive report by Israel’s Jerusalem Post and other media on July 30th, during his speech at the World Assembly of Parliaments, Israeli Speaker Amir Orhan was met with protests from representatives from Iran and other countries when he made remarks.
The report by the Jerusalem Post stated that Orhan said, “If you want a Palestinian state, then please establish it in London or Paris.” He was referring to recent statements from France and the UK regarding plans to recognize a Palestinian state.
Orhan condemned the Iranian Speaker and called for the release of Israeli personnel who have been detained by the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).
During Orhan’s speech, representatives from Iran, Yemen, and Palestine left the venue to protest.
A new round of conflict between Israel and Palestine erupted in October 2023, and the situation has not ceased since then. The humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip has recently continued to draw attention, with multiple countries expressing their concern over the humanitarian crisis in the area and calling for the lifting of restrictions on humanitarian aid supplies and urging an immediate end to the war in Gaza. During this period of conflict, Israel has launched attacks on targets within Yemen and has also engaged in conflict with Iran.
