On July 31, the Myanmar National Defense and Security Council convened in Naypyidaw, deciding to lift the nationwide state of emergency starting from August 1, no longer extending it further.
In February 2021, Myanmar’s acting president Min Aung Hlaing declared a one-year state of emergency, transferring national power to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. Following this, the Command Headquarters established the National Management Committee, with Min Aung Lew serving as its chairperson. Subsequently, Myanmar has extended the state of emergency multiple times. (News)
