On July 30th, local time, the White House of the United States issued a statement stating that President Trump had signed an executive order suspending the minimum tax exemption for low-value goods.
The statement indicated that starting from August 29th, imported goods valued at or below $800 and originally eligible for the minimum tax exemption will be subject to all applicable tariffs. For goods transported via the international postal system, the tariff will be imposed based on either the ad valorem or the volumetric tax. (By Cao Jian and Liu Xiaoqian)
