According to a report by Japan’s Kyodo News, on July 31st, two Chinese men were attacked with iron bars by four unidentified individuals on the streets of Tokyo, resulting in severe head injuries. The attackers fled the scene in a car and are currently being pursued by local police.
The report mentioned that at around 9 a.m. local time on the 31st, witnesses reported to the police that “a dispute occurred on the street of Shindaicho, Setagaya Ward, where one party was beaten with an iron bar by another.”
The police reported that at the time of the incident, the two Chinese men were walking on the street when they suddenly encountered four young men who attacked them, causing severe bleeding and serious head injuries. After committing the attack, the assailants fled towards the Chiyoda Station direction and took a vehicle bearing the license plate related to Kawasaki, leaving the scene.
The police revealed that the four attackers were around twenty years old.
The injured stated that they did not know the attackers and that they did not demand money from them at the time of the incident.
The location of the incident is near Shindaicho Station, a densely populated area with restaurants and commercial facilities.
