According to Korean media reports, a warrant for the arrest of former President Yoon Suk-yeol was issued by the South Korean court today (July 31). This warrant was requested by the “Kim Jong-hee Special Investigation Team” the day before, which is responsible for investigating suspicions related to former First Lady Kim Jong-hee.
The “Kim Jong-hee Special Investigation Team” stated that without providing a reason, Yoon Suk-yeol failed to appear for two consecutive summons from the team’s investigation. Consequently, the team applied for a warrant for his arrest to initiate compulsory investigation. With the warrant issued by the court, the “Kim Jong-hee Special Investigation Team” will send a prosecutor and an assistant prosecutor to Seoul Detention Center to take compulsory measures against Yoon Suk-yeol and conduct an investigation thereafter.
On July 10th, the Central District Court in Seoul had already issued a warrant for Yoon Suk-yeol’s arrest upon application by the “Internal Disorder Special Investigation Team”, following which he was immediately detained and remanded at Seoul Detention Center.
